I always lick it to check for blood.
if s(he) removes it from a packageAnswer by Sunshine
They should show you the package with the brand new sealed in needle, if they won’t, they’re not legit. They should have no problem explaining the autoclave and the sterility of their tools to you in a legit place.Answer by eliot_ross
Watch him take it out of the package. There can be some risk’s. In a clean shop, where they only use things once, they are minimal.Answer by Slug
they should take it out of the package in front of you right before they are going to do workAnswer by InkyCherry
they should use new needles for every client, have them open the packet in front of you. Talk to the artist about their sterilisation techniques, everything that doesn’t come in sterile packs should be autoclaved. If you dont feel comfortable dont get a tattoo from that studio, there are plenty of good, clean studios out there, take your time to find the one that suits you.Answer by ~Leslie~
Well, think about this, you would be asking someone to put ink into your body so there is some risk of reaction to the ink if you are super senetive, infection if you don’t clean it right or they didn’t to start with and on the rare chance that they aren’t clean diseases could pass if they are there. With a good artist, every needle comes out of a new, sealed package and goes into a freshly cleaned tool with washed and gloved hands for every step. If you take care of it right, don’t have some random freak out reaction, and can handle any pain without making it more difficult then the risk is minimal. My advice is to go ask an artist in your area how they work, ask if you can watch them work, get price quotes, check the shop out. If you don’t feel comfortable, leave. The best thing you can do is to do as much background research as you need to be totatlly sure.
