You can find out who owned a home by going to the Office of Deeds and Records in that county.
Who the tenant was you cannot.
Well the simplest was is ask the landlord.
There are many paths that you can use to gleam who the previous occupants were.
Try using a reverse phone book. Site like 411.com and switchboard.com offer this as a free service. You can further drill down (still for free) and often find relatives and previous addresses. Once you have a name, search for a phone number. If you act quickly you may find that the name and phone are listed at your address, that i sure confirmation that you have the right people.
After about 6 months the post office may stop forwarding 1st class mail. You may get a letter addressed to the previous occupant. DO NOT OPEN it, that is a federal felony. You may also receive junk mail address to the previous tenant or “occupant”, it is okay to open these.
How are newspapers delivered, maybe there is a paperboy you could ask.
If they voted, they may still listed on the voter database.
Some cities require landlords to tell them who the tenants are, so they can tax them. These records may not be public.
Oh yes, check the grapevine. I mean ask the neighbors.
I learned these methods as a result of tracking down dead-beat tenants for judgment enforcement. In addition to the methods above, there are many more can be uses with “permissible purpose”, the lease invasive of these is the “credit header” that contains ss#, address, phone, and work information, but no actual credit information.
Hope this is helpful in your quest!!!
Answer by Almaprevious owner of a house can be verified from the city planning office or from the provincial/city assessors office.but i think there is no way to check or verify the person who previously rented a house other than from the owner of the house itself.Answer by sophieb
when I was a realtor and we were showing a home we’d print out from the MLS the particulars of that home. It would show everything from the past. When it was built, what was added, previous owners, taxes, etc.
