Pashta: How do my husband and I relocate out of state with two small children and a home to sell?
We had this planned for a couple years and we tried to sell the house two years ago when I was pregnant, took it off to have the baby, tried to sell it again then I got pregnant again, took it off the market and need to try to sell it again. Is there an easier way to sell a house, or rent or something? My husband has a job with the USPS so he will transfer, no worries on the job front. Any advice would be appreciated…
Our home was priced below market value, is fairly new (less than 20 years) and in great shape, nothing wrong with it. The market here is horrible and it is a small house.
As for renting, we do have family that lives nearby so even when we do relocate it’s possible to rent it if that would be a good option.
Maybe we could pay a realtor to manage the renting for us? How much do they generally charge for that service?
My other question is about relocating in general since we have small children. All of us just take a truck and drive across the country? We plan on moving pretty far away. Maybe someone with experience in relocating with children can answer…
Regarding the USPS transfer: Yep we researched it and know there will be people retiring in a few years where we plan to go so he won’t have to be a PTF again for long and there are openings now. Can you message me privately about why you say this? Have you had a bad experience transferring? We could use advice if you have some. Thanks!

Keep this home and rent it out. It could be some great extra income if done correctly.
Long distance landlording is troublesome to say the least, so I would recommend this be a last resort for your consideration.
You need to price your home to sell quickly based on your current market conditions. It must be in better condition and priced better than your competition in order to facilitate a quick sale.
Not sure what else your question is…..
Answer by SullaIt’s not all that easy to just transfer in the USPS, I hope your husband has checked into this already.
