Maufi N: How do I measure my pony’s legs to determine the right size for splint boots?
I have a 14.2hh Arabian pony. I just want to know how to measure his legs so I can buy properly fitting splint boots.

I had a mare who was 14.3hh and her splint boots were cob size. I never had to measure her legs. All the boots I purchased came in size: Pony, Cob and Full. I suggest going to your saddlery and asking the what size you would need for a 14.2hh pony.
okay, im know this isnt answering your question but i just wanted to thank you for posting this. i had left my splint boots outside and its supposed to rain tonight. i would have totally forgotton about them excpet for the fact that i saw your post and remembered.
so thank you!
Answer by Amy SHe’s either going to wear pony or cob size boots. If you want to measure, measure from the bottom of his knee joint to the center of his ankle bone. Then go to the tack shop and measure the length of the boots. Arabs usually have tiny legs, so my guess is you’re going to need pony size, but look at the cobs also just in case 🙂
