mustangridah314: How do I limit internet access to other computers on my network?
I have a dsl connection 6.0 mbps. Desktop is main Pc and wireless laptop is the pc I want to limit access to so it won’t interfere with my Xbox 360 connection. I know I can just unplug the ethernet on main pc and turn off wireless mode for the laptop but I have to share or the internet will get cut off. Is there anyway to limit the internet to laptop and desktop?

What you need is a better router
Linksys calls it QoS (Quality of Service)
D-Link calls it Gamefuel
Whatever buzzword you want to hang on it, what it is is a set of tool built into the router that allows you to set priorities for the different machines on the network andmakes sure the bandwidth is distributed fairly.
Your standard plane jane router from Best Buy has a very simple system, “First Come First served and the rest of you are hosed”
Stepping up to a better router gets you past this
All you need is a checkbook
Good Luck
