Bridget: How do I get my dad to lose weight without telling him he is fat?
My dad is fat and he starves himself to loose weight. I tell him it makes it harder to loose weight doing that, but he wants to do it that way. I am skinny so I don’t understand really how to loose weight. So help?

Ask him if he wants to go for a walk with you, and even make it a daily/ or nightly routine. Walking is a good first step. Get to some heath websites and look for good healthy meals that you’d enjoy, then ask him to make it for dinner at night, or ask your mom. Got a basketball hoop? Ask him to get up and shoot some hoops with you! GoodLuck<3
Make his meals for him.Give him healthy small portion things. If he has small portion meals for a while his stomach will shrink.

ask him if he wants to go for a run with you, or walk the dog together! or you can get heart to heart and tell him you’re worried about his weight effecting his health?Answer by Leonard Moo
Handcuff him to the bed and force feed him methamphetamines, but no food for a month.Answer by ♥LXC♥
Maybe start encouraging him to go for walks with you, or swimming or some sort of exercise. Every little bit counts, and it’s always fun excercising with someone else as it’s alot of fun, and you forget that you’re exercising 🙂Answer by Tinkerbell
tell him that ur school is doin a running program and u have to run a mile everyday, but u dont think u can do it by urself, and u need him to run with u to get encouragementAnswer by jenniferlm21
tell him to go on a calorie diet. he shouldnt go higher then 1700 calories to lose wieght. he wont lose anything if he goes high then that. id go with 1200 calories a day or something like that. just be like dad you shouldnt starve yourself its really unhealthy. dad if you want to lose weight you should go on a 1200 calories diet. tell him that he wont lose any weight doing that because when you do that your body starts to thinks that its starving so it goes into starvation mode and it started to store the calories and fat and so he wont lose anything because of that.Answer by The 60’s Lover N
give him a pair of jeans, and if they can’t fit him, then he will realize that he is getting fat…Answer by Molly
I think if it were me in that situation I would ask him to go on walks with me or bike riding. Getting him out to burn some calories and work up an appetite then have some low cal snacks to munch on and some healthy items for dinner. Ask for grilled chicken and no marinating and frozen or fresh veggies.
You could also find some information on starvation dieting and send it to him in an email. Have you explained to him how worried you are about this? Maybe just sitting down with him and showing him your question would help!
Good Luck with this. I have a friend at work that is doing the same thing….she is tired all the time and seems to be ill more often then before, but she will not see this. If it is brought up she changes the subject or just gets off the phone.

Answer by Maria Jose MTake away all the fat foods and he’ll lay of the snacks ,at least talk to your dad about stuff (not about losing weight or any diet related things)while you two take a walk. It is a great way to spend more time with your dad and good exerciseAnswer by silveryslipper
Excercise with him – swimming is especially good. Just ask him if he wants to come to the lap swim at a local pool with him. It burns calories and builds muscles less tiringly and more effectively than basically any other sport. Also, offer him healthy snacks.
