learning: How do I deal with a co-worker who isn’t pulling they’re fair share?
My co-worker is upset with Mgt. (we both have good reason). The difference is, despite it all I do my work and go home. Unfortunately, she neglects work and I ultimately have to make up the slack.
I don’t want to be a tell tell but not only is it rediculous, she doesn’t seem to care.

Quit your your job and work for the government. There nobody works their fair share and you can sit back and wait for your pension when your 50!
You can go to your manager and instead of being a tattle-tale, you keep it in terms of your own work.
“I’m very concerned about this project, I’ve gotten my part of it done but haven’t gotten the reports on suchnsuch yet (not “from sally”). I am not going to have time to take care of this myself, so could you please assign someone to handle this by tomorrow?”
No accusing, no blaming, no whining and no tattling. If you need something from your coworker, then say “sally, do you have those reports yet? I need them for tomorrow”. Repeat until her work regarding you is finished.
To be a good leader, you never complain about something, you only come up with a solution and present it as an alternative. This creates pressure on those around you, hence the job gets done.
Answer by 3 dogs and a husbandYou should try expressing yourself to her. Tell her that she should grow up and have some pride else she should quit so that someone else can have her job. Her actions not only affects management, but also her co-workers.Answer by Big Woof
In this crazy world she will be your boss within a month. Just keep plugging along doing your job. At some point mgmt. will notice.Answer by WWDD?
Does she have to do her work in order for you to do your work, or are you able to work independently from one another? If the former, I would go to the management and inform them, but keep it in terms of my own work rather than tattle on her. If it were the latter, and me in this situation, I’d do my own work only and let her explain why her share isn’t done.Answer by Norton
The manager should see this himself eventually. If it goes on too long without him interfering, then you know that he’s not doing his job, and when you report her, you can make note of his failures as well.
The business world today is absolutely nuts, don’t trust anyone, and take notes (with dates and times) just in case you ever need to file a grievance.
