Filip: How do I connect my home cinema system to my TV?
I can’t manage to connect my JVC home cinema to my Samsung tv. I am really new at this and don’t know any of the technical stuff. When I launch a DVD through the TV’s AV source it works fine but I can’t get any sound from the home cinema system when I watch normal TV. Can anyone help by explaining this simply? I have connectes the red and white RCA cables but it doesn’t work… what kind of cables do I need? Thanks a lot.

Hopefully you have audio output interface on your TV and this is what you are using the RCA cables for to go to the receiver. Once this is done and you have connected it to the receiver and have an AUX or TV connection on the receiver itself it should work fine. Make sure you have the proper source on the unit when your trying to listen to the tv for instance if you have the source set to DVD the unit is not going to broadcast the audio from the tv. Unless you also have the tv running into the receiver you are not going to get sound coming through the stereo system. It sounds like you one set short of rca cables. I would hazard to guess you have the dvd player running to the receiver but you do not have the tv running to the receiver buy another set of cables and do this then it should work fine.
P.S make sure the cables are output not input when connecting to the unit. Since the audio for tv comes for the signal from the cable you must run cables from the putput port to the JVC unit in order for the sound to go through the unit.
Answer by bbt91945Majority of the tv in the market today have an optical output for the audio. Connect an optical cable from the tv and connect it to your home theater in a box. Keep in mind that tv programs that no not have the Dolby Digital logo will not have any surround sound information. Most tv programs are only in stereo. If you only have a composite connection on your home theater (red and white for audio and yellow for the video then you can not connect you tv to it. Hope this will help you out.
