Insallah: how come most religions of the world, even Catholics, try to have some female Deity aspect to religion?
Most religions of the world have, especially pagan, have the whole mother earth thing as part, a big part at that, or their religion.
And the Catholic Church also has that same aspect with Mary, and sort of deity if you will.
So why can’t most of the world not have a female aspect to their religion as the Muslims and Protestants do?

Sounds like good ol’ fashion coincidence to me.
Mary is not a Deity. She is a respected person chosen by God and born without original sin.Answer by TattooMom doth Peeith
Mary isn’t a deity. FYI: Islam does respect Mary as the Virgin Mother of Christ. Ask a Muslim sometime.
I wonder what Jesus thinks of you dissin’ his mom all the time.

Religions are for people and largely by people, at least our interpretations and expressions of faith. With regard to that, it makes sense to me that they would contain both male and female complementarity. You can’t escape or exclude humanity in something for and by humanity.
In addition, I won’t. Mary is not revered as a deity or a part of the Trinity.
Answer by skepsisThere are all kinds of people in the world. Some of these people have difficulty putting their trust in male authority figures, due to the judgmental, demanding male stereotype persistent in patriarchal cultures. A maternal aspect provides an alternative way of approaching deity.Answer by Mad Doc
Your question makes it seem that you are chauvinist and stuck in the late 19th to mid 20th century mind set.
As a Biblical scholar I know that Men throught Biblical history have diminshed the role of women in the church and in religion in general.
The first wife of Adam, Lilith, may have been the reason that female interaction in religion may have been suppressed in the first place. The reason being:
“Adam and Lilith never found peace together; for when he wished to lie with her, she took offence at the recumbent posture he demanded. ‘Why must I lie beneath you?’ she asked. ‘I also was made from dust, and am therefore your equal.’ Because Adam tried to compel her obedience by force, Lilith, in a rage, uttered the magic name of God, rose into the air and left him.”
Once you begin to look at many of the world’s religions, e.g. Christianity you will find that many of the celebrated holidays reflect a femine/fertility aspect. Such as Easter.
Easter comes from a Teutonic name “Eastre”; a mythological goddess of spring and fertility. Even the Easter Bunny is a symbol of fertility.
You posit that Muslims and Protestants do not have a femine aspect to their belief set. You are incorrect.
In Islam, there is no difference between men and women’s relationship to God; they receive identical rewards and punishments for their conduct. In Islam’s earlier history, female religious scholars were relatively common. Muhammad gave permission to Ume Warqa, Muhahammad’s female companion, to lead a mixed prayer at the mosque of Dar.
Protestants still recognize Mary as the Mother of Jesus, and venerate the Immaculate Conception. Although unlike our Catholic brethren the Protestants do not worship Mary or any of the more than 10,000 Saints
I could go on for some time, but I hope what I have placed here will give you cause to enlarge your views and give you cause for seeking enlightenment.
Answer by Danny H C.A.B.Sorry, but you’re mistaken. The Catholic Church does not have any type of female deity or god whatsoever, contrary to whatever notions or opinions you may have. Mary is reverenced (respected and adored) because she was given a grace that no other human was given: she is the Mother of God.
Hope this helps.

Catholicism does not have a ‘female diety’.
Mary is the Mother of God, but not a ‘god’ herself.

As a Catholic I am only interested in Catholic teaching. . . and there is no female diety in Catholicism.
<>
Mary is not a diety.
Mary is not a “sort of” diety.
Mary is human.

If you think Catholic and non-Catholic Christianity and Islam have “female aspects” to their religion, then most of the world DOES have religions with “female aspects”!
So what’s wrong with there being highly placed females in a religion anyway?
