♥Tawnya♥: How come I don’t get the “safe to remove hardware” icon anymore when I plug in my MP3 player?
It has only been plugged into the computer a half dozen times, the first couple times I got the “it’s now safe to remove your hardware” icon in the lower right of the screen, but the last few times I don’t get that icon and I end up just unplugging it anyway. The book that came with the Sansa MP3 player said not to unplug it without first clicking this icon and waiting for the prompt to unplug it or it could be damaged. I don’t get that icon anymore and I’m worried I’m going to ruin it.

try this…from My Computer, right click and go to Properties, then go to Hardware, double click your device name, the check the Policies tab. You might be on Optimize for Quick Removal. This allows you to remove or unplug your device without Stopping it first. Hope this helps.
