hhhh: How can you tell if your little brother is smoking?
I’m concerned my 16 year old brother might be smoking cigarettes. Every now and then I get these whiffs of smoke smell off his clothes, and he chews gum a lot, and just kind of seems to be hiding something. But I don’t want to accuse him of anything just off of a hunch (our relationship is already strained as he thinks I boss him around too much). What should I do?

smoky clothes and gum/altoids are the tipoffs.
Time for “the talk”. It might do no good, but just letting him know you care what happens to him and don’t like it when he makes STUPID MISTAKES is sometimes all you can do.

Smell his fingers. If it’s just coming off his clothes he could just be around it. Better yet just tell your parents and stay out of it.Answer by merlehirtbaby420
Give him a glass of prune juice every morning and use your chainsaw to trim those long overdue trees in your front yard.

This is a very serious matter and something you really need to discuss with your parents or whom ever it is that takes care of you. Even if you think that he may be smoking it is better to tell someone and be wrong then to sit by and let him get addicted.Answer by megadisc
just keep sniffing around…
he is bound to make a mistake…
then you can catch him later..
take care not to hurt the guy with a piledriver …

If you’re smelling it he’s smoking it. Don’t be in denial. He IS smoking. Confront him about it. At least tell him that you worry about his long-term health. I started smoking when I was 14 and didn’t quit until I found out I was pregnant at 22. That was 18 months ago and I still get an occassional craving. He is too young to realize what a HUGE deal this is. He is lucky to have you to get on his case. I can see how it would be hard for you to confront him being your relationship is strained but if you can’t go to your parents about it than you are all he has. Talk to him… if it doesn’t stop him from smoking than at least you have tried. If it does make him realize it’s stupid than you have given him such a gift and he will thank you for it down the road. Do consider telling your parents about it though. They are the ones who could be most effective. If you are worried about getting him in trouble just think about all the years of his life you will be saving him. He really will thank you one day.Answer by nicoleismybabygurl_4ever
