dj_msho: How can I get my little brother to eat his vegetables?
My little brother is 8 years old and he hates eating his veggies. No matter what or how I try to get him to eat it, he usually ends up throwing it up or running away. My parents even gave up on it. However, I want him to be healthy (for his sake) and not having to be stressed in the future about his health. Are there any techniques/solutions/special ways that you know of? If so, PLEASE tell me how.

Pay a Big sleezy, HUGE man to yell at him to eat his veggies if he wants to live! it works, trust me!
Baby carrots, ranch.
Make sure he doesn’t eat oily, sweet, sugary foods…
Explain it to him like a grown up, get him good bread, chop up apples for him…
Sweet potatoes in the oven, with melted marshmallows…
Not the healthies, then take off the mellows.
Good luck, trying to do the same with my bro who is 18, but handicapped, he is skinny, not healthy.Answer by Kandie Kay
i’m looking..i was watching a random cooking channel and they had those sprittzers…like what wishbone has for dressings…but a man made a huge line of them with a bunch of flavors…that you can spritz and kids love it…like in weird flavors like chocolate/bubblegum/cottoncandy…and just spritz it on broccoli and such..and it hides what ever unappealing taste that kids hate….
maybe you can find them
Answer by pineapplePresent it in a fun way that makes him interested! Write his name with veggies or something creative!!!
Good luck!
Answer by Krissi Swe learned this in psych. positive and negative reinforcement. with positive reinforcement, you would give him a reward….say a cookie, or popsicle. with negative reinforcement, you take away something unpleasant. so you give him his plate with only the vegetables on it. he doesn’t get any other dinner if he doesn’t eat his vegetables. the unpleasant thing would be hunger. his brain will say his hate of hunger is greater than his hate for vegetables, thus, he’ll eat the vegetables to rid himself of the hunger.Answer by sweet_one
try making a vegetable and fruit smoothie for him, somewhat sweetAnswer by Lauren
Okay, first tell him that a man got out of jail and loves vegtabales and hate ppls that dont. Then a few days ltr say you saw him come just before you ate them and as soon as he say u eat them he ran away.If he doesnt eat them get a boy, (like a good friend or ur bf if u have 1) to put on a paper bag and jump in with a toy gun. lol. Or you can tell him no meals unless they have veggies. It worked 4 me when i was 7…..Answer by JCH
The running is probably making him healthy.
Limit his portion sizes of other foods to the recommended portions. If he’s still hungry he’ll eat the vegetables. If he doesn’t like vegetables you can always just supplement with a Flintstone vitamin or some such
You’d be surprised how many parents are incompetent enough that they’ll either just increase the sizes of the portions or only give their child what they like to eat (i.e. junk food like mac and cheese) because “that’s all they’ll eat and I don’t understand why they’re so overweight.” To which I say, “It’s because the parent in the relationship – that’s your child – is making poor choices.”
Answer by tiny450My kids were not fans of vegetables until I put melted cheese on them.Another trick is peanut butter on celery with raisins.Mixing some into mac and cheese always worked(broccoli, cauliflower, were good )Tomatoes on hamburgers worked. There are allot of recipes for hiding vegetables in food.I used them all.Potatoes were perfect covered with cheese.Veggie burgers were a god send, never knew the difference.V-8 juice, any vegetable juice. Some are mixed with fruit now so you can’t tell the difference.Don’t expect miracles, he may still run.My kids eventually enjoyed the ideas and grew up fine.Good luck.Answer by Sue
Have you tried raw veggies? Like carrots, they are very sweet raw. Does he like fruit? Does you brother like salads?Try to make eating veggies and fruit, fun for him which means you will have to eat with him. But don’t force him! Good luck!Answer by whereintheworld
Mix it in with stuff he likes. I know my mom used to make beef and broccoli and all I really tasted was the beef. Its all about flavoring like you can melt cheese all over the broccoli. So just try to season the veggies when you make them with salt pepper and butter. Maybe you have to bribe him, like if you dont eat for veggies then no desserts.
