: How do I become a high school physics teacher if I am a history teacher?
I am going to be receiving my Type 09 with a BA in history to teach secondary schools. I am considering going back to school to be endorsed to teach physics because of the high demand. Will I have to get another bachelors to be a physics teacher or is there simply a certain number of classes I can take to teach high school physics? I heard that being endorsed to teach another subject does not require an intensive work load. I live in Illinois.

I’ve seen ads for physics teachers that only require a minor in physics (about 6 classes). Of course, that’s if you’ve already taken math through calculus, and may still require more math depending on the specific courses you take.
