horses_4_life2942: Help with Math Problems?
Ok so this isn’t homework, but my math teacher wants us to try them…and I can’t figure any out.
1.If the digits used in writing the numerals 1,2,3,…,100 are listed, what are their mean, median, and mode?
2. In home room 114, 18 people like math, 32 like english, 25 like language. 8 like math and english, 16 like english and language, 7 like math and language, and 3 like all subjects. Everyone likes at least one of the three subjects. How many students are in H.R. 114?
3. A grocer bought 12 dozen oranges at 24 cents a dozen. He found 18 bad oranges in the box and he sold the rest at a rate of 3 oranges for 8 cents. Find his percentage of gain or loss.
4. Tom and his two brothers bought identical notebooks when school started. Each of them bought three. Tom paid for the entire purchase with a 10 dollar bill. He received under a half a dollar in change, all in nickles. There was no sales tax and the price cannot be fractional. What was the price of one notebook.
5.A fredburger, milk shake, and order of fries equals $ 3.72. The cost of one fredburger is the cost of one milk shake and two orders of fries. The cost of three milk shakes is the cost of one fredburger and one order of fries. What is the cost of a fredburger, a milk shake, and two orders of fries?
If you could somewhat explain how you got the answers that would be great. Thanks!

for the first questin i dont understand what do you want by the question..second question you need to list all the information given..then calculate them..you need to think how to solve them.but remember you need to list them first..third question 24 mutiple by 12.when you get the answer for the orange price.for the number of orange,12 mutiple by 12.when you get the answer minus with 18.then,divided by 3.calculate the orange price.then you calculate the percentage..Answer by Bethtastic:))
1 Mean- 50. Median- 50. Mode- No mode.
All of them added together equals 5000. Divided by 100 is 50. The middle number is 50. And there isn’t any repeated numbers.
2. 34 or 109. Idk.
18+32+25+8+16+7= 109.
3. He made $ 7.20
12 x 24=288 – 18= 270/3= 90 x .08 = 7.2
4. Each was 3.10
3 x 3= 9. And you know that the change is less than .50, ending with a 5 or 10. So you have to figure out what can go into 9 ending in a 5 or 10. (Which is 90.)
5. I don’t get the question.
Keep in mind, I’m in 7th grade, But I’m in honors :]
