CrazyRunner: Can I do gymnastics and get a scholarship for a college team?
So, I’m 14 years old, male, and I’ve been wanting to do gymnastics for a long time. I do cross country and track and field for my school, so would that put too much stress on me? And also, do you think if I do gymnastics that I can probably get a scholarship in it, cause I’m really good at school, and I want to do competitive gymnastics.

To get a gymnastics scholarship you probably need to be level 9 or 10. Have you seen college gymnasts? The women at least seem to be a t level 10. If you’re 14 and can see yourself getting to level 10 before you start college, then go for it, it’d be lots of fun.
Since you’re already athletic, it’ll be easier for you, but honestly, people like me have been training all their lives and that’s who you’re going to have to compete with. I’m not telling you not to try, because you should, but I wouldn’t count on getting a scholarship or making a college team. It’s a bit of a stretch, but I guess if you are really talented and work really hard there is a slight possibility…Answer by George
