My mum hates being corrected, she went in a mood when I mentioned an alternative training technique, but I need to stop her and my dad from feeding our jack russell harmful food. He gets human food and even packets of crisps. My mum spilt some rum and coke on the floor and got him to lick it up, we couldn’t calm him down for at least an hour. He’s getting spoilt.

Please help me! I don’t know how to stop this.

My mom always does that too.

I tell her that if she keeps feeding him table food, Charlie is gonna get spoiled to death. [Literally HAHAHA]

Just right a letter to your mom and slip it under the door to read or put it in the mailbox. pretend your the vet and she will probally stop. Hope this helps

Tell your parents that this is extremely harmful for your dog, it upsets their immune so much that within time it causes long term illness. Sadly my aunties wonderfull and healthy dog died because of this, she got fed human food all the time and for the last few months of her life she was constantly being sick and then sadly past away.

If your mum isnt listening to you then perhaps ask your vet on your dogs next check up, she will probably listen to the vet

Bleh I know, mine are the same. I just tell her, “NO, you cannot feed MY DOG this!” and take it from my dog. I don’t know if this would work in your case because it sounds like you have a family dog, but my dog is MY dog – I’m paying for him (vet, food, grooming, etc.) taking care of him, everything, so I kinda get to decide what he is fed..

you really can’t … it is a family dog and some members of the family want to feed the dog human food … it is not going to kill him … you can try to educate your mom, because you are right, but i don’t think it will do much difference … and if it makes you feel any better, i had a dog who lived to 17 years old eating crap dog food, fast food, junk food (that dog ate a lot of doritos and a lot of mcdonalds) with no negative health effects ever … when you move out on your own you can get your own dog and treat him exactly as you want, but with a family dog it is not your rules …

You have to tell your mother that human food is “BAD” 4dogs! Our foods are so full of chemicals and steroids that are terrible on the dogs digestive. She isn’t doing the dog a favor for it by giving the scraps just making things worse for the dog
