buttercup: Do you recommend taking AP exams without a corresponding high school class?
My school offers no senior-level AP classes, but I’d like to take the Spanish and/or Calculus exams.
Is it possible to prepare for these tests on my own? I’ve taken regular classes in the subject areas.

Well, to the best benefit, the classes keep you “in shape” for that AP exam. However, it’s been done, don’t let me deter you.
Here’s what you can do to be in good condition for such exams:
-Practice/Study as much as you can, or as much as you deem appropriate for the subject.
-Buy a few books as reference to the subject, some examples are books from college board or the Princeton Review.
-Ask a few teachers that have a relation to the subject. You should be able to get help from just about any willing Spanish teacher, you should also have contact with a math teacher that would be willing to assist you also.
I wish you the best of luck, the difficulty is in understanding well and discipline to keep on going.
