: Do you need to take geometry to graduate high school and go to university in Southern California?
I never took geometry. I took algebra 1, algebra 2, and pre-calculus. I am planning on taking AP Calculus. Do I still need to taken geometry?

the normal sequence is algebra 1, followed by geometry, then algebra 2. I don’t know why your school gave you the option to skip geometry. But, yes, you should definitely take geometry. That knowledge will be extremely useful for AP calculus and colleges in SoCal will expect you to have completed it.
For me it was algebra 1, geometry, then algebra 2, then pre-cal (if you choose to take a 4th year of math). I don’t know of any school that didn’t include geometry for graduation, and for me it was required. Also for universities, they usually decide on how many years of math you took, rather than the subjects.
