I don’t know a whole lot about that stuff, but I will tell you that unless you already have a good knowledge about computers and how they work, you should think twice before hitting a computer science course. I attempted a computer programming course one semester when I was in college. It was the first course in a series, so I was expecting it to be a simple introduction to how to work with computers. I showed up on the first day of class, and right off the bat my professor was talking about things like ASCII, Binary Code, and some other wierd stuff that I didn’t know anything about. I ended up dropping the course after that first day (I figured that if the first lecture didn’t make sense, there was no point in going on…). So yea, unless you have already been studying about computers and you are really familiar with how they work, I would really think about it before you try a computing class.
Not really. In my course there where even guys who had never used emails before…
It would be nice if you tried to learn a programming language through self study though. It would really help getting started and would help you to know if you actually like computing. Remember, using the internet and playing games has nothing to do with computer science.
The guy who answered previously doens’t know what hes talking about. He dropped after the firt day??? That was probably a 1st day prank class…
Don’t worry, as long as you are good in logical stuff and a self learner, you will be fine.
