jeremy dutch: Do criminal psychologists work within a Police department?
I’m studying for a degree in psychology right now. Then I am interested in getting my MA in criminal/forensic psychology.
Does a criminal psychologist work within a Police department, or do they have their own “office” and is hired by investigators, detectives, etc for certain cases?
Hmmm how about someone who ACTUALLY knows? I watch TV too. I don’t need a “maybe” answer because you saw something on tv. Thanks.

Answer is NO. Not generally. Their “profilers” may not have a pinch of the education you have, but use your expertise.
They should have criminal psychologists in the force alright, but working with the batterers and abusers we see, caught on video each day.
