Jessica F: Does “credit card” mean you are actually paying on credit?
I wanted to rent a movie online on cinema now website but when i proceed to checkout and it only gives two options. Pay pal and Credit card. under credit card it ask what type and i wanted to use visa and i can. I wont get any interest fees right? I don’t want to use credit and it makes me nervous that they are refering to visa as a credit card.
Will my purchase go through like a normal visa purchase?

if what you are talking about is using a visa debit card that goes to your account and is not actually a credit card than it will work fine to use it under that option. If your card has the option to also use it as credit than you need to see if somewhere in checkout the option is given to choose debit.
Yes. It will be normal. Interest is applied once you dont pay the full balance of your card every month. CC companies are counting on the fact that you will make the minimum payment to keep your account in good standing and then they can charge you 24% APR on the rest. If you pay the full balance of what is on your statement every month before due date, you will not be charged interest. Note the payment has to be registered in their system before due date. Usually they give you 3 weeks after the statement date to pay the balance in full.
As long as you pay the full amount on the credit card every month before due date, you will not be charged interest. Credit card is used to replace cash. It should not alter your spending habits. Afterall you dont buy anything when you dont have cash right? In this case, make sure what you buy you have money for in the bank.
If it is a visa check card, it will take funds from your bank and you can use it as a visa credit card. No interest is charged since your bank will deduct the money from your account directly. Check cards for purchases are the same as credit cards. The only difference is the money is deducted automatically from your bank rather than paying them at the end of the month as in a regular credit card. Also, CC have a credit limit of what you can charge. Check card’s credit limit is what your bank balance is. If it is $ 10, that is all it will allow. If $ 100,000 then you have that much to spend 🙂

Answer by P RIn India we have two types of Cards available. One is “Debit Card” and the other is “Credit Card”. Both with have different groups.
Debit cards will have the symbol “Cirrrus” or “Maestro” or Both. This will enable the person to use the Debit Card in any of the ATMs which will allow transaction. Debit Card can be used to draw cash from the ATM or use at the purchase centres either physical or online. The amount utilised will be directly debited from your savings/current account maintained at the Bank.. If there is no amount in the account then the transaction will not be allowed.
Credit Cards are the cards which will be issued to the individual after due assessment of credit analysis / investigation. Banks will fix the credit limit to card holder depending upon his credit rating.
The Bank will pay the amount immediately to the vendor on behalf of you (so no credit from vendor to you) and collect the amount from you at a later date. Some banks give holiday period say 30 to 55 days (credit period) for making repayment. Since they are waiting for some time to collect the money from you without charging any interest/fees it is known as Credit Card. If there is delay in repayment, the charges will be heavy compare to the other credits given by the banks.
Credit Cards groups are majorily “VISA” and Mastercard”. We can use the Credit Cards for drawing cash from any ATM which accept the above groups.
Hope I clarified to some extant………
