Still “owe on a credit card” around $750 but credit report says zero?

MadameJazzy: Still “owe on a credit card” around 0 but credit report says zero?
I had a credit card 2 yrs ago & it was the one reason why my credit score went from a 540 to a 650 in about 11 months. I paid on time and more than the minimum balance. They increased my credit limit but then my husband & I moved to TX for his job and I had to quit mine. I ended up not being able to pay the balance anymore, being 7 months preggos and no job. So it was charged off, so I made a payment arrangement to pay $ 40/mo. However, I had not paid them since May 2008 (I mailed like 3 payments and my hubby got laid off). So now, my hubby and I are divorcing and I am attempting to get MY finances in order. I checked my credit report and the balance is $ 0?? And it says that I have been paying as agreed since Feb 2008??

Do I need to report this to the credit bureau and dispute this off? Is the balance really zero, did the creditor make a mistake?? I don’t know how to approach it, I really don’t wanna pay this $ 700 but I will if I have to…

The creditor made a mistake which is in your favor. Leave it alone for now. But you may want to put aside money for a settlement when the collection agency contacts you.

Eventually the account will make it into the hands of a collection agency. You will be able to settle the account for 50% to 75% if you have a lump sum payment.

Paid a s agreed to for x amount of months then they sold it to a collection agency which will repost it to your account as you owing them
