: How do I convince my mom to let me get my cartilage pierced?
So my mom let me get three piercings on my lobes already, but she won’t let me get my cartilage pierced. I was wondering how how I could convince her. She wants me to wait until I’m 18. I’m 16 now, and I think I’m old enough for a cartilage piercing, I know I’m ready for one and I’ve been wanting one for a long time now. I also know that I’ll want to keep in the future. Help?

Just be happy with what you have for right now. When you turn 18, get your cartilage pierced if you still want it.

My mom also want let me get my cartilage pierced. She told me i had to wait till i was 18 because that’s when she got hers done. But i know she’ll let me anyways. Just don’t bug her so much. And tell her you;ll clean your ear ring holes so they want get infected. Even if you could just tell her you could pay for it you self. But it’s really not that different than getting another part of your ears pierced,since you all ready have 3 holes in your ears.

I have mine done and im 14 theres nothing really wrong with them i got my tongue and belly 3 on lobes and cartliage i just did them my self it didnt hurt my mom said no i just did it she was mad at first but she got over it ur old enough go ahead but after u get them done u might want to do one at a time (month) wise cuz i couldnt sleep on the one i got done its real painful after the fact so if i were u i would go ahead

My mom was the same way girl! She is kind of against any piercing that isnt on the earlobe. What I had to do to convince her was tell her that there is no damage done. It isnt like you are gauging your ear or anything and if you change your mind ever there wont be a huge gaping hole. Mine closed up and you cant even tell that it was ever pierced. Then you can tell her that it is just an ear piercing. My mom thought of it like a REAL piercing. I had to keep telling her “its not like I want my nose pierced. Its on my ear”. Tell her about your friends who have it done like “oh my best friend Brittany has it done”. Cartilage piercing is different from a lobe piercing in terms of pain and healing. But other than that theyre the same. My cartilage piercing hurt more than my belly button piercing. and It took over a year to heal. Just something you should know. I would look around at different piercing shops. Some of them require you to be 16 and others require 18 for cartilage piercing. You could also go with a friend or a friends parent who are over 18 and they could get you to get your piercing. However, please please please do not try to do it yourself.
