Rob: Consumer Vs. Real Estate Credit Score?
Is there a such thing as a real estate credit score? My wife and I recently talked to a broker who claimed that our consumer credit score was Good( > 680) but our real estate credit score was only fair ( < 640 ). I thought that the credit score used was always FICO. I understand that mortgage lenders take more into account than just credit score, but I've never heard of a "Real estate" credit score.
That's the thing the middle score is 668, they are claiming our "Real Estate" score to be around 620. Maybe she is full of it........ Answers and Views:

There’s no such thing as a real estate credit score. What I think he may be talking about is that for mortgages lenders base approval on the middle of your 3 credit scores. So although your highest score may be over 680, your middle score could be under 640. Ask to see a copy of your credit report, it is your right to have a copy given to you.
