I think maybe just a shiny fishing lure…I hear it can make you lose sensitivity down there. Imagine a guy getting a tongue piercing stuck down there too…it’s just a horrible idea.

a vertical clitoral hood will work for the woman a horizontal clitoral hood really does nothing. very few guys say thesr piercings do anything for them.

It’s a big controversy as to what the purpose of a clitoral hood piercing actually is.

Some women swear that it provides them pleasure- that the bead of the piercing (if it is a barbell and a vertical hood piercing) rests directly on the clitoris and provides sensation in that way. I’ve heard a story of a woman who had hers removed because it overstimulated her- just walking down the street was uncomfortable. I’ve also heard a very many woman talk about how it does little or nothing for her sexually in that sense. It may add a different element to receiving oral sex, but again, not that much for many women.

I suppose, theoretically, a hood piercing could provide a different sensation for a man, but for the most part, I don’t think it would make much of a difference whatsoever.

The main enjoyment of a clitoral hood piercing, in my opinion, is both the visual aspect of it, and, more importantly, the way it makes you feel. For many women, it’s a sign of sexual liberation- decorating her p*ssy, being proud of it and her sexuality. It’s adventurous, a little wild, a little “bad girl”, a streak of exhibitionism. When you have a genital piercing, you’re instantly classed as a certain type of person- brave, not shy about sex, and, again, wild. Much like wearing lingerie under your regular clothes can be a great reminder during the day of feeling sexy, knowing that you’ve got a genital piercing can give you a little smile- it’s your secret, that part of you that nobody besides your lover(s) know(s) about, that gives you a little thrill.

I’d say it’s a combination, then, of all three- many women are initially intrigued by the idea of having one, having seen it in a porno, perhaps, or hearing about it, and thinking it might give them sexual pleasure as well as be kinky and sexy and pleasurable for their partners.
