Kate-Ann: Christians: How do I get over what my coworkers are saying about me? So called Christians picking on me.?
Some of my coworkers call themselves being so Christian.
Lately some of my coworkers are saying really mean things about me and word got back to me.
One of my bosses even nicknamed me “Cinderella,” because she and a few of my coworkers think that I live in a fantasy world just because I’m kind hearted, keep a smile, I’m optimistic, and I’m a Nicki Minaj and Gwen Stefani fan.
My coworkers are saying I have a lot of nerve looking up to Nicki Minaj and Gwen Stefani because I’m just a nurse aide. They are saying things like “She calls herself trying to be like Nicki Minaj but Nicki Minaj’s hair looks better than hers and Nicki Minaj got money and she doesn’t work as a nurse aide.”
I’m not trying to be like Nicki Minaj.I look up to Nicki Minaj and Gwen Stefani. Is that so wrong? I like their music and fashions and personalities. Is that so wrong?
I have my hair styled like Nicki Minaj’s but that doesn’t mean I’m trying to be her.
Some of my coworkers are saying things like “Nicki Minaj’s hair looks better than hers and Nicki Minaj combs her hair.”
I recently went back to wearing relaxer in my hair because it makes my hair more manageable and my hair doesn’t frizz easily. So I have my hair done like Nicki Minaj but this was my decision and I like it.My family and real friends have no complaints.God has no complaints. I’m not trying to be Nicki MInaj. And I do comb my hair and take the time to make sure my hair looks nice.
My hair is long and thick and some of these coworkers who are talking down on my hair are walking around there with cheap weaves and cheap wigs. Some of my coworkers are always trying to boss me around about my hair and tell me how I should wear my hair.
And where is it written that I can’t like Nicki Minaj or Gwen Stefani just because I work as a nurse aide? Where is it written that only the rich people can like Nicki Minaj and Gwen Stefani?
Some of these coroworkers talking are nurse aides. Some of my coworkers are nurse aides but they got promotions but of course they think they’re all that just because they don’t have to work the floor but they are still nurse aides.
They think I live in a fantasy world just because I’m kind, optimistic, keep a smile, and I’m a huge Nicki Minaj and Gwen Stefani fan.I’m not trying to be Nicki MInaj or Gwen Stefani. 1 of my bosses calls me Cinderella because she and some other coworkers think I live in a fantasy world. I do not live in a fantasy world.
I’m very hurt by what they are saying about me and the killing part is that this is coming from so called Christians.
How do I get over what some of my so called Christian coworkers are saying about me?
I’m questioning my purpose on earth.
And as far as me working as a nurse aide, I don’t plan on being a nurse aide for the rest of my life.I’m working on my BA in early childhood education. My AA in liberal arts will be mailed to me this spring.
And I wear purple contacts.I need them to see.I’m near sighted. They are saying “Nicki Minaj doesn’t have purple eyes.”
They are trying to pressure me into getting a different color of contacts lenses. I have been wearing purple contacts since I was 16 years old.I’m 29 years old now.I chose purple contacts because purple is one of my favorite colors,my great grandpa had violet-blue eyes which is rare on an African-American,and I like standing out from the crowd.
I’m really hurt by what they’re saying about me. Word got back to me about what some of my coworkers really think about me. I don’t live in a fantasy world.I’m not trying to be like Nicki Minaj or Gwen Stefani. What’s wrong with liking Nicki Minaj and Gwen Stefani’s music and fashions? Where is it written that only rich people can like Nicki Minaj and Gwen Stefani and only rich people can wear Gwen Stefani and Nicki Minaj fashions?
And I’m not going to be a nurse aide for the rest of my life.I’m in school to become a preschool teacher with my own daycare center and a famous writer/poet. And where is it written that because I work as a nurse aide that I can’t like Nicki Minaj or Gwen Stefani? And where is it written that a person lives in a fantasy world just because they’re unique? Where is it written that a person lives in a fantasy world just because they look up to certain celebrities? Where is it written that a person livesin a fantasy world just because they smile and they’re optimistic?

You’re a troll it seems. And no one will read all of that. Are you just saying this to make Christians look bad???
Be the better person and ignore their jealousy. You don’t have to defend yourself, really. It’s typical for groups of women that work together to be gossipy and be mean.
If you are 29, then act like it. Who cares how you wear your hair? They shouldn’t, but since you let it upset you, they will continue to bother you.
Just go to work and do your job. You owe the coworkers nothing personally. Just do your job with a happy heart.
Now, you have let it all out. Move on. No more reactions to their drama, unless you like them to do it.
Answer by ArcherYou have given them so much power in your life. I know that they will be gratified when reading this that “you” have let them have so much of an impact on your life.
People are only as important as “we” chose to make them.

Good God..truth seeker, your reply is completely rude. you said no one will read all of that but I did, and the girl says she is starting to question her purpose here in life, and you actually took the time to reply and down the girl even more calling her a troll. what the fuck is wrong with you? does it make you feel better about yourself to hurt someone who is obviously already hurting?
anyways to the girl pouring her heart out, i have to agree ith the person who said you are giving too much power to these people. and I’m afraid that you might have come to the wrong place for encouragement, with people like the truth seeking bitch. flaunt your style shamelessly no matter who your inspiration is. as long as it makes you feel good about you…f&^% em all. I accidentally stumbled on this when i was looking up color contacts, and don’tknow why but was touched at your vulnerability. you pobably wear your heart on your sleeve…which will end up hurting you more than it should….but I bet it makes you an excellent nurses aid. speaking of nurses aid…GIRL there is NOTHING wrong with that job. you could be on welfare and spending your check on relaxer and contacts, and driving a new car bought by the state while livin in the projects on section 8, like SO MANY hood rats out there, but you’re in school and working and spending your money that you had to work for on your style…so rock it baby. christian or not fuck em all…do your thing baby girl. dont let anyone get you down.
im a 32 r old white girl with 4 kids and a husband, and its pretty sad that your situation at work sounds so similar to our 14yr olds situation in HIGH SCHOOL. petty. your co workers need to grow up, as do anyone else who feels better bout them selves when making someone else feel bad.
