☮GlassBox☮: How do you say “can I help you” in Chinese (Mandarin)?
I am writing about a salesperson and I want him to ask, “may I help you?” to the customer. Could I say something like “xiao jie, wo neng ba ni ma?” or something like that?
Thanks for any help.

That’s kind of literal. Yes, “May I help you?” would literally be “Wo ke yi bang ni ma?” but that’s not really something people say. I don’t think “neng” works here because it means “Is it possible that I help you?”
“Nin” 您 is the polite form of “ni” 你 but I’ve rarely heard a Chinese person actually try to use it, even with customers.
Instead, you could say:
“You shen me shi?” (lit. “What issue do you have?” I think this is best.)
“Nin yao shen me?” (“What do you want?” I know it sounds a little rude, but if you go to China, they totally say that.)
“Nin zai zhao shen me?” (“What are you looking for?”)
“Nin xu yao bang zhu ma?” (“Do you need help?”)
