I’m doing an editorial for school. I wanted to add how many children in the world spoke English, but I couldn’t find it on some search engines. Can someone please help?

what i would recommend doing, which is too much work for me right now, would be to find which nations are primarily English-speaking (have English as the official language), and add up their populations.

it will not be entirely accurate. some english speakers will live in other countries, while some in english-speaking countries do not actually speak english, but you should get a pretty reliable stat.
