I live in South Jersey and I want to start doing some house cleaning to earn some extra money. If you have your house cleaned around here or do it yourself around the area, what is the cost for a small house, large house, different services, ect.? Thanks so much for the help!

But a few things to take into consideration. What type of cleaning will you be doing? Windows, floors, bathrooms, light tidying, dusting, vacuuming, etc. Are you using your own equipment or theirs?

If you have friends who hire their cleaning done, ask them how much they have to pay. If you have friends who do cleaning, ask them how much they charge. Or call a cleaning company and ask them what they charge. Base your rates on theirs, obviously going a little cheaper, because if someone had to choose between an individual with higher rates than a company… they are going to choose the company place.

Also, are you charging by the hour, by the room, or by the house. Someone might want just one room cleaned, someone else might only want you for an hour a day, or even clean the whole house in one day. Decide before you start advertising how much you would charge in each of those events. That way if they ask, you will know your answer.
