surveyoverlord: Can a mother urinate during the delivery process of having a baby?
Say the baby is being delivered by the doctors, and the head is partially coming out, during these couple minutes, has there been instances when the mother really has to piss and needs to go now before the baby comes out?

uh yeah. you also poop too. ask them to give you an enema.
Yes … I urinated a small amount every time I pushed. Women also have bowel movements during delivery … I had a small one.
The mother doesn’t even think about needing to urinate or have a bowel movement … she just does. All the muscles involved in pushing are involved in urinating and having a bowel movement … you just go without thinking about it.
Answer by SouthernmummyWith two of my kids, during birth, i had a wee poo, its all perfectly normal.Answer by Preggo
You have a catheter so you are peeing constantly. And more than likely you will poop too but you won’t know b/c they’ll just discreetly clean it upAnswer by Cindy D
It happens all the time. You won’t even notice if you do, and the doctors will just cope with it!Answer by Sara V
Urine, bowel movements, yes. Though as for the mother being able to feel that she has to urinate, she would be so overwhelmed with the feeling of the baby crowning and being deliveried that it is doubtful that she would be able to feel that.Answer by EC
If you do, it will probably be in the earlier stages, not at the moment of birth when the baby’s head is coming out. When you push, it’s the same exact sensation as (sorry, but it’s true!) having a BM; the same muscles are used. So, if you pee or have a BM then, don’t worry: you’ll get it all out well before the baby’s head emerges. Your body cleans itself out pretty well on its own.
And you won’t much care, either. 🙂
Answer by azchicksterThis is not an function she will be able to control. What you describe is quite common, particularly in the pushing phase. During this time, especially if she has been in the process of pushing for a longer period of time, she is likely to lose control of her bladder and bowels, and may not even realize it is happening.
It is common in delivery and it occurs and is not considered gross or unreasonable, even in the presence of doctors and nurses. They just clean ya up and you keep chuggin till that baby comes out:)
Good luck
Answer by ChrisYes, it can happen during the delivery period but it can be avoided since mother before giving birth are being put into catheter so they will be able to urinate before the baby comes out.
