Alex: At what age does an average female’s breasts start and stop growing?
I just wanted to know this because I’m an adolescent and still going through puberty, and I was just wondering at what age does a young woman’s breasts start and stop growing, and how big do they usually get?

Answer by ajomine didn’t start growing until I was about 14 or 13. I am 27 now and they still grow and get smaller depending on what weight I am. My sister who is 13 started developing around 10. Any my 8 year old step daughter is now budding. So it really varies. Especially with what they are putting in meat these days.Answer by Blackangel2006
The size of your boobs really depends on genetics and other factors… your boobs are already a predetermined size so there’s really nothing you can do to make them bigger besides surgery.
They start growing during puberty and usually stop growing in your mid twenties.
But trust me…. you don’t want ginormous boobs. They cause a lot of back pain and you can never find cute bras or tops to fit into.

Breasts can start growing as early as age 8 or as late as 13. Some girls’ breasts grow slowly and others grow quickly. Some girls may feel like their breasts will never start growing. But it’s just that girls start developing at different ages and different rates. One girl might have more developed breasts at 12, whereas her friend could be still flat as a board.
Breast development happens in stages. The first stage starts during the early part of puberty, when a girl’s ovaries enlarge and estrogen, an important female hormone, begins to circulate in the body. Doctors often refer to the early stages of breast development as “breast budding.” Get it? Budding — like a flower has buds.
A breast bud is like a small raised bump behind the nipple. After breast budding happens, the nipple and the circle of skin around the nipple (called the areola) get bigger and a little darker. Then the area around the nipple and areola starts to grow into a breast.
As breasts keep growing, they may be pointy for a while before becoming rounder and fuller. For some girls, one breast might be a little bigger than the other one. A girl’s breasts may continue to grow during the teen years and even into her early twenties. Fully developed breasts come in all shapes and sizes.
Breast size gets a lot of attention and many girls may wonder how they can make their breasts grow faster or bigger. Despite what some magazine ads say, there isn’t any magic cream or pill that can speed up the process or make a girl’s breasts larger than they are. In fact, breast size is mostly determined by heredity and a girl’s weight. So if a girl’s mother has big breasts or small breasts, the girl can expect to have breasts of similar size. And a girl who has more body fat is more likely to have larger breasts.
Answer by HelenIt depends on your weight. At 18 I was a 34F and now at 22 (and 20 lbs lighter), I’m a 32DD.Answer by greencheeks
There’s no such thing as an “average female” 🙂
But seriously… breasts start and stop growing differently for every woman. I’m 32 and I have at least 3 different bra sizes because as my weight fluctuates over the years, breasts are the most affected.
When I was 15, one day my breasts grew. I swear it happened overnight. They started as stout B cups, and years later bumped up to Cs and back to B, and so on and so forth.
That is one of the beautiful total-freakin-annoyances of being a woman as opposed to a man: your body will change and confuse you for years to come (eventually men’s do to, quit to their surprise).
The 2nd annoyance is that all things that are considered beautiful in modern culture (and in history for that matter) are painful, so you have to decide which things you’ll reject and which you’ll suffer a bit for…good luck on that one – I own 20+ pairs of 3-inch heels… I wear them exactly once every 3 years, and I’m miserable the whole time.
Good luck 😉
