carmella.: How are puppy mill puppies purebred?
I heard that they sell puppy mill & pet store puppies as purebreds.
How could people believe that without seeing papers & registration?
Or do they some how register their dogs?
Ah, okay thank you sakura.
I’m getting all the information that I can because I’m going to make some bright colored flyers & hand them out in crowded places. & tell people to get the word out.

They don’t register anything, they just suck people in to buying the dog, convincing a person that it is a purebred or “designer” breed, when most of the time they are just ill-bred mutts or they are purebred, but are raised in bad conditions and have health problems later. They get legitimate dogs and breed a lot. I bought a lab from a hunter, akc registered for $ 300. I called pet land and they want 1200 and it comes with a package, but the package is worth no more than $ 200, and that’s on the high side.

the thing to recall on puppys made this way is that in many cases they have short life spans kids fall in love with them and they die real fast on them

Puppy mill puppies are often registered, often with the AKC which is why AKC registration means very little about the quality of the dog. If the parents are registered, the puppies can be no matter how low quality they are or what conditions they come from.

They provide the copies of the papers to the pet store when the pet store buys them. People believe it because when they buy the puppy from the pet store, the new owner is given the papers on the puppy.
As a second point, what difference does it make? If the puppy gets a home, who cares if it has papers? Papers/registration means nothing. It’s either a good dog or it isn’t.
