Jersey Pride: YOUR favorite way to SEASON or flavor your STEAK????????
I bought a sirloin to make for myself tonight. Please share your most delicious steak “recipes” with me. I would like to broil it but i want to add possibly: onions or shallots, garlic etc.
Do you have a favorite way of seasoning your steak? A sauce or homemade gravy?
How long should I keep it under the broiler for medium cooked steak?
THANKS VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ANSWERS!

I use Montreal Steak Seasoning – that’s it. Here is a link to steak cooking instructions – scroll down a little for the broiling instructions.
Enjoy!

I like to season the steak itself with kosher salt and black pepper (freshly ground) and sear it in a little extra virgin olive oil on each side for a couple o fminutes before I would broil it. Depending on how thick if you want medium I would cook it under the broiler for about 5-7 minutes.
To make a simple gravy add some butter to you pan that the steak was seared in and add some shallots or onion with some garlic (2-3 cloves). Cook on medium for a bout 5 min. till onions are softened. Season with salt and pepper. At this point you can either add some nice red wine andreduce to make a sauce or some 1/2 & 1/2 to make a cream sauce. When I make a cream sauce I also add mushrooms (do this in beginning with onions) and add some gorgonzola cheese to make a wonderful gorgonzola cream sauce for the steak.
Good luck. I am suer it will be wonderful!
Answer by justagrandmaThis one never fails to get raves and its so simple.
One tsp Teriyaki sauce, one tsp Gravy Master, dip steak in, then put in hot skillet that’s lightly sprinkled with kosher salt.
Minute and a half per side if one inch thick and you like it rare.
Really brings out the beefy taste and the color is fabulous.Answer by Deena
I love to keep it as simple as possible, to keep the nice flavor of the steak.
I usually season the steak, just salt and a lot of pepper. Then, in a pan, I put butter (or oil), and a bit of smashed garlic. I let the butter melt and put the steak in the pan and cover it. Let it cook a few minutes on one side then flip the steak and let it cook some more.
And that’s it! Enjoy.Answer by the soup nazi

I just like a salt and pepper seasoning with A-1 on the side. Has to be the original A-1 though.Answer by ♥♥♥ Mom to Hayleigh ♥♥♥
This is THE BEST seasoning to use!
We sprinkle our steaks liberally after tenderizing with Tony Cachere’s Original Creole Seasoning. (You can see it here: ). It gives them the best flavor ever! Just don’t add any extra salt or pepper. We always have steaks served with sauteed mushrooms and onions, and a few veggies and a baked potato.
The seasoning lends itself really well to pretty much any meat or seafood also.
Answer by Lady RhiannaI use A-1 Mesquite Marinade – Marinade it till you are ready to cook it. It makes the steak really tender and taste great!Answer by flipperjat
I season my steaks with Ultimate Steak & Roast Rub from Excalibur seasoning. It is much better than Montreal and much fresher. I season the steaks about 5-10 minutes before cooking. I never Broil a steak, only us a grill/charcoal. When I grill I also use a product that I found Called BBQ’rs Delight smoke pelletts. They are placed in a foil pouch you provide or a cast iron smoking pot you purchase, and are then placed in the coals. This provides a nice smoke flavor along with the seasoning. I’m hooked on this and have found none equal to it!Answer by Cheery L
