CINNAMONxx: What would happen if I cooked cake mix on the griddle like pancakes?
I’ve been looking for alternatives to baking simply because I have to (broken oven), and my mom found a “recipe” on this site for making cakes in the microwave. I’m still not satisfied, though, and I was simply wondering what would happen if I put cake mix on the griddle like pancake batter? Would I just end up with a flavored (whatever the cake flavor is supposed to be) pancake? Thanks.

I would think so. It cannot be too bad though. You can dress it up with frosting and fresh or canned fruits and top it with whipped cream. Sounds good?
Yep!
You would just end up with more “cakey” pancakes – just like a thin delicious cupcake – I actually like them this way because I like how the outside gets all crispy – and the inside is still warm!
Try it – it will be fun, and that is what cooking is about!

yes, a puddle of cake mix on a griddle would result in a very sweet pancake.
Alternative: Get a 2 cans of fruit pie filling and dump in 2 nine inch round cake pans. Split a box of prepared cake mix between the two pans. Top pans with foil, place on a medium-low stove burner and cook for about 30 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes and invert onto plates.
This is great—I make it over a campfire when camping out.
Answer by ♥Sweet Cakes♥Okay- let me help you out…lol it’s kinda funny I had to bake about 8 cakes in the stove for my daughter’s 3rd birthday because my oven broke- I had no choice…- I wanted to make her something special and I baked her a home made castle. This is how I did it…. The whole point is to think of how an oven works. Soooo. Get a roundish pot if you know what’s a “caldero” for cooking rice that is perfect to use. Make sure you have 2 cake pans and one is at least a little bigger then the other. Place the biggest cake pan in first making sure it fits in the pot and there’s at least some space between the pot and the first pan at the bottom for the heat from the stove- (that’s what’s going to cook the cake like an oven will). Place the second cake pan with cake batter inside the 1st pan…. and cover the pot with the top and turn on the stove a low-medium. You don’t wanna cook the cake straight in the pot or placing the pan right onto the stove because you’ll get either pancakes or it will burn…lol . You need heat in the bottom of the pan and on top so it can bake like a cake. I learned this trick the hard way when I was desperatly in need of an oven- I just made my own using the stove.lol…. No joke… It took me a while- but it came out great…. as if it was baked in the oven… lol- I can show you some pic’s if you like…:-)
Good luck…
