Wait four hours after you post your question, click your avatar, this will bring you to your profile page.
scroll down to your “my questions”– click that and your questions come up, click the one you want… . There will be a blue bar under each answer you got that says choose as best answer.
Click on that blue button if you want to choose that answer as best answer, a new page comes up
Then your rate it 1-5 stars and write a comment in the space provided.. Click OK and it’s Done. You receive 3 points for choosing and the best answer gets 10 points and 1 extra for each thumbs up to a total of 50, don’t forget to give that answer a thumbs up (you can start giving thumbs up and down on level 2). A question goes to voting if you have not chosen a best answer after 4 days. Then you can vote for best answer and receive one point but there is no guarantee that the one you think is best will be chosen as the answer with the most votes will get best answer.Answer by Nancy C
If you are asking for the logistics, here’s how:
Your question has to be open for at least 4 hours to pick a Best Answer (BA)
After that time, all of the responses will have a blue oval under them that say “Choose as Best Answer” – click on that, and it is done! You can post a comment, visible to everyone, to the answerer. At this point, you can also rate the answer with “stars”, from 1-5. These stars do not correspond to points, but let the answerer know how helpful the answer was.
It is nice if you give a thumbs-up, too, because people can get (up to 50) extra points for getting thumbs up on their best answers.
If you are asking how I specifically chose a BA:
1. Does it answer the question?
2. Does it provide sources, so I can double-check the answer, if applicable?
3. Does it include additional information that I may not have thought of asking, but that is helpful?
4. Is the response clear with correct grammar and spelling, and is the answer understandable?
(PS – This question and the R rated movie one will let you choose BA. If you do not choose BA within 7 days of asking, it will go to a community vote)
