Is Obama astute enough to recognize that he can’t force people to accept a system where the government-alone controls doctor’s income & patient’s options.

Yes. There will be no single payer or public option and Big Parma and insurance companies could not be happier. Obama will do nothing he promised to do, that was all lip service to insure his election. There is no hope in Washington.
