means ⇒ Have a good new year!!

明けまして おめでとう ございます。 (Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu) which basically means “Happy New Years!”Answer by Barry C
both of the 1st two answers are correct. but you say it *after* new years, not before. any time in the first 5 days is best, but if it is someone you don’t see often, you can say it the first time you see them not unlike we do in the US.Answer by gurugirl34
