Tonya: Will maternity insurance cover me if I get pregnant before the 365-day waiting period?
My husband-to-be and I were planning to start trying for a baby after our wedding this December. We didn’t know that our insurance company (BCBS) required a 365-day waiting period on maternity before they would cover costs. If I end up pregnant but the baby isn’t actually born until the waiting period is over, will the insurance company cover the hospital bill? Or is this considered pre-exisiting and voids the insurance? I’ll be talking to my agent this week, but I was just wondering if anyone knew.

That is a better question for them and get the answer in writing.
what part of Waiting Period do you not understand?Answer by Lisa
No it would not be covered. It would be considered a pre-existing condition if you conceive prior to the 365-day waiting period being up and no part of the pre-natal appointments or birth would be covered.Answer by Jim
healthquotes.awardspace.info – try this one. My sister had no problem with her insurance coverage while being pregnant.
