Will all this airline baloney make prices go up or down?

hmm: Will all this airline baloney make prices go up or down?
I’m referring to the American Airlines cancellations and the recent bankruptcy of another airline or two in recent weeks.
(ticket prices I mean)
Gromit are you daft? I said the cancellations (due to safety inspections) and the bankruptcies (due to the cheap sniveling customers you refer to) were baloney. It is apparent that you have strong feelings on the matter but at least try to understand the question.

Baloney?

Customers demanding dirt cheap fares and high fuel prices have caused three airlines to shut down.

Aircraft safety is baloney?

ALL of these things happened mainly because sniveling, whining passengers want cheap fares. So some airlines tried to cut costs in other areas, and it didn’t work.

I hope fares actually go up. I would rather have a healthy, safe airline.

I work for an airline, and there are several issues in tact right now. One is fuel, the other is safety. The fuel issue will most definitely make prices rise, however, airlines want and need to stay in competition with each other to draw passengers. The other in reference to safety is only to clear up the issues in that respect, however, since there are flights that are being taken out for “re-checks”, etc., the airline is losing money due to the cancellations,…..so, that could post a rate hike, also.

I’ve seen prices going up on our airline $ 5 to $ 10 per reservation. Now, there are all types of airlines that will have their own price increases according to distance, etc.

Does that answer your question? Have a good day! :o)

Reduced competition will never reduce prices. The unfortunate demise of several carriers in the last weeks does not bode well for anyone, including passengers.
If the price of fuel continues to climb (almost an inevitability), we will probably see further shake-ups in the industry and either raised fares or surcharges on most flights.
