I have always wondered this!!!
I mean to say what if it is flying and there is an earthquake?!

Nothing, unless the plane is on the ground, in which case it would shake as well. Very little of the quake energy is transferred to the air, and even then it would be very close to the ground.

nothing will happen!!!!!!!! you are in the air nothing can shake the plane unless there is avolcano…………………..

Well since you are in the air you should not be affected, but there is a chance the earthquake affected a tower and that might cause some sort of interference. It could also affect the place you are landing in which would probably be pretty dangerous. I’m no expert on this or anything but I hope this helps.

Won’t affect the airplane at all as long as it stays in the air. Landing in an area during or after an earthquake is another matter.

Been there done that, nothing but they divert the plane from Sunnyvale CA to Phoenix. Was so glad I hadn’t landed.

that’s why we need more airplane. to fly away if an earthquake occurs. if you are in an airplane during an eartquake, you should consider yourself Superman because you are untoucheable, at least as long as you stay on air. lol

nothing unless on the ground because the plane is in the air so it won’t be affected by the shaking of the ground.

The earthquake will shake only the earth not the atmosphere.You can enjoy to see the situation if you are flying in low altitude.
