Have you tried sooking hardboiled sweets?
I usually do this when my ears go funny, but i helps when I’ve got a sore throat too.

I would take some throat losenges with you and suck on them while your on! Or cough drops, hard candies, pepomints,them fruit breezers things from Halls work pretty well. Just try and keep your throat moist
