not: Why would a son defend his mother to others if shes crazy?
Let’s say his mother is a compulsive liar and in general a terrible human being.
The mother i would say is borderline, if not, insane. Yet is able to function to a certain degree and abide within the laws in order to get away with it.
The son defends his mother like it’s his life.
If the mother goes and causes trouble, the son takes over and starts threatening people or saying how great of a woman his mother is.
Why do you think this is?

i think its because the son realizes that this woman gave birth to him and raised him, and he loves her, careless of how she is.
Because he has an insecure attachment. Usually children with insecure attachment to their mothers tend to defend them, since they’re looking for the mother’s approval at any cost.Answer by gw
