Welcome to America, now go home: Why should we lift a finger to help Libya when we already know what the outcome will be?
Say we decided to create a No Fly Zone (which is in effect declaring war on LIbya). During the required operations to destroy Anti Aircraft batteries you know a few “innocent civilians” are going to get killed and then Media like Al Jazera will use those images to inflame an already out of control MIddle East population. Along with that the Loony Left will claim we’re only doing it for the oil. Face it getting involved with Libya will be a no win situation for us.

Libya is a third world hell hole full of Muslim fanatics who hate the US specifically and the West in general. So whatever we do in that country is going to be a waste of time, money and more importantly, lives.

noticed that Obama is trying to get the UN to address Libya.
Bush, with no provocation, lied to us and to the UN to get justification to invade Iraq.

Clearly Libya is a problem.
With oil going the way it is, there’s tremendous temptation to get something done.
If McCain were president, we’d already have a no-fly zone.
Aren’t you glad that isn’t the case.

There Currently is No situation under which WE help Libya, and it works out Well for the USA.

So, we need to leave out.

Obama is not ready to play the “strong” American. Better he do a quality job of playing the WEAK Americn than a bad job of beinga a strong One.

Other than the comment about the “Loony Left”, I am mostly in agreement. For those reasons and others, the US should not take any unilateral action. If the UN decides to institute a no-fly zone, and the idea has broad support in the middle east and north Africa, we should consider participating. The people of Libya ARE worth something, and Gaddafi is no friend of the US.

Actually if the Americans just apply a no fly Zone now; they will come out as the heroes even Aljazeera will have a sock in their mouth…. But invasion like Iraq will be a catastrophe; maybe WW3; Libya has the purist oil in the world; at right at the surface…

For once, I say let the Libyans fight it out amongst themselves. We will survive without their oil. Then we will see what a big mess they have done to themselves in Libya and the Middle East. Let them get on with their fighting.

Has anyone stop and thought about what Gadhafi has said”it is Alkda (or how ever you spell it)
Gadhafi has not taken a stand with them and the US is beginning to back down on the Islamic Radicals and is becoming more pro Muslim and anti Jewish
