Basic: Why is it hard for me talk about myself at a JOB INTERVIEW?
Hello, I find it quite difficult for me to talk about myself in a positive light at a job interview. “I’m a hard worker……for eample…….” so on and so forth. It seems like I’m being an actor or a phony? I’m not though. Do you guys have this problem too? What can I do? This is so important to me.

As long as you speak the truth, you do not have to feel like being a phony, or saying a made up statement. When things come from heart, it will reach the heart of the hearer. it is so true. so next time onwards, just be frank, and say what you believe about your self. keep confidence in you and also believe your potentials and abilities. God will help you to climb up. blessings
Your not alone there are many people who under the stress of an interview get flustered and it gets worse.
To help you overcome this , practice your answers to questions, write a question down any question , then stop , think, now write down bullet points , for example.
What was your greatest difficulty and how did you overcome it, think of it ,now write down bullet points, when you have down that expand on them in a logical order.
Another question that is classic, and use full in gaining an idea on a candidate is, why due you think you are suitable for this position, this question you should already have had practice on, and it really is expanding on the words, attribute of the job advertisement.
Your are quite normal in your nervousness and I would/do allow for that, I was in your shoes and probably worse than you, what I have written above helped me.
Remember the questions will be general, about the role, about you , and your future aspirations, and mentioning team working is a major must. Please prepare in good time for a forthcoming interview.
Remember learning your answers is like learning the words to a song, takes ages to achieve, but once you have learnt the words you can repeat the words anywhere and at any time, the principles the same
God luck, you are normalAnswer by rhueless
You need to be a little less negative about yourself and make what you say a fact, not a justification.
Instead of saying ” I’m a hard worker… for example… I once…”
Try: ” I’m a hard worker ”
Be simple, Be confident, Be straight forward.
YOU are a hard worker. You believe it, and your prospective employer can see that you believe it. You don’t need to justify this statement, because when you say it, people will know it.
