emotionempty: why doesnt the sims3 doesnt work on my computer?
I have the sims3 on my computer but when i want to play the game it say ” Unable to start – Device 0 cannot run the title. – No supported video graphics card detected. Please check your system hardware,” I have no idea what that means. I have a gateway computer ( GT5012 [ if that means anything & the computers pretty old, about 5 – 7 years or so ] ) . The following link displays the specifications of your computer.
https://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/GTModels/5394/5394sp3.shtml
_The following are the system requirements to run the Sims 3
Desktop PC (Windows XP + SP2):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2000+ Processor
RAM: 1 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce FX 5900 or Radeon 9500)
Desktop PC (Windows Vista + SP1):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2400+ Processor
RAM: 1.5 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce FX 5900 or Radeon 9500)
_Assuming that the specifications of your computer are accurate and you have not upgraded it previous to now; you have everything you need except for a graphics card. the GMA 900 on your motherboard is insufficient to run the Sims 3.
_Still riding the aforementioned assumption: Your computer has a PCI -E x16 as well as a PCI-E x1 expansion slot (the PCI-E x 16 is faster) either of which is capable of having a graphics card installed in. With a 300 watt power supply you could probably get a medium range $ 50 128 bit graphics card. Which you could install yourself with very little difficulty, just research it a little on the Internet first.
_That 2.8 GHz Pentium® 4 processor is still a fairly adequate processor that would probably meet and even exceed the minimum system requirements for many modern games. If you find the right graphics card you could probably get several more years of enjoyment out of that computer.
_I hope this helps you; good luck to you.
_P.S. “I have a gateway computer ( GT5012 [ if that means anything” Yes it did mean something. I probably would not have bothered answering this question without it. : )
