Maybe your parrot is going through mental stages in its life. Or maybe it was an abused parrot, if you bought if from a pet store.

Parrots as any other animals… can be just like humans.
Sometimes they like to play around and be nice, other times they may want to be left alone.
As a matter of fact, my aunt had a parrot. Whenever we were alone or there wasn’t many people around, he was VERY nice.
However, when many people was around… the parrot would get nervous and be a jerk.
I don’t know the situation where the parrot was being a jerk to you, but it may be because there was more people around. But as I said, the parrot maybe… didn’t want to play at that time… so you know 🙂
Answer by mrs.sharon2uDo u give him to diffrent foods? That may be why he is acting that way. Or try giving him his food at the same time everyday.Answer by jessii_x09
My sun conure parrot is acting up right now. She’s very tame and adores the family. Right now it just so happens to be spring…and you know what that means! It’s breeding season, so their hormones are going whacko. Don’t take it personally, he’s not trying to hurt you. My parrot only wants to be with me right now, and will bite the family and sometimes me. For your parrot, He’s just a little moody. It should pass after spring. Be very patient. Do not try to abusively punish him. When he bites, do not have any reaction to it because he will think that you are playing or that if he wants HIS way he can get it by biting you. Time outs help too, after he bites calmly put him in his cage with a SAFE cover and walk away. Don’t even look at him during his “time out”. Don’t scold him either, they don’t understand english 😛 This may be his first hormone insanity time so I understand why you are worried. It’s nothing terrible really. Give him a lot of fresh veggies and fruit (no avacados, or any poisonous for for parrots) and lots of clean water. Make sure you take out the veggies after 30 minutes maximum.
If you ever need more advice, don’t go here…no offense. Go somewhere for people with parrots and experience. https://www.tailfeathersnetwork.com/community/index.php
