Family is not in the age of the teen to understand him. His friends are of nearly the same age and understand each other really well.

Families are not that close anymore because parents are not that understanding of their kids and generation and how society works in their school. Parents are just too strict with their kids and doesn’t trust them. They don’t let them do certain things so they get sneaky about things that they do, this leads to kids not telling them things. They tell their friends things because their friends has probably gone through with the same situations and tends to understand them better. If you asked a friend for advice, they would tell you something that is totally different from what your parents would tell you. You parents would tell you ways that would be more safer & correct, but would himmiluate yourself but your friend’s way would tell you to do somethig else but spare you from himmiluation. Parent gotta understand how society has changed since the last time they’ve been in school. Things or customs five years from now would be different from 10 years from now. Society is moving forward.
Well some teens feel that they can’t tell their parents anything. Otherwise, their parents will get mad and ground them or scold them or something like that. Also, they’re the same age as their friends so they understand each other better.
I’m actually really close to my parents and my brother and sister but there are just some things you can’t tell your family about.

You say teenagers “nowadays.” Actually it’s been true forever that teenagers are closer to their friends. The reason is that the teen years are transition years.
At an earlier age, kids would be within their families and generally tight w/them. As a kid enters their teens, they begin exploring their independence. They are transitioning to becoming adults when they will be totally on their own.
Part of their independence is hanging out w/other freedom-minded teens, NOT their families. The family begins to seem like a prison from which the teenager desperately wants to escape. Their friends represent the freedom they crave. This leads to conflict between teen and parent which leads to disrepect from the teen.
This is a natural stage in life. It’s important for the teenager to go through it to prepare for adulthood. This has been going on since The Stone Age when there were cave parents and cave teens. There is always some degree of conflict. Some parents and teenagers handle it better than others.
Later, when the teenager has become an adult, they discover that those boring people called parents were really not so bad after all!
Hope this helps you. Interesting question. Thanks.
