Lulu_miami: Where in Boston to live?
I am moving from NYC to Boston to go to school. And wondering about apartments and rents. I live in Manhattan right now and I pay $ 1400 a month (total rent is 2800 as I have a roommate. Just wondering is Boston as expensive? I mean if I want to live in a nice area?

Probably about that or even a bit less for Beacon Hill, South End and Back Bay. These are the most expensive areas. (2 B/2BA). Depends which school you are going to.
For $ 1400 a month, you could get a nice one bedroom in a nice area. It may not have door service or in apt. laundry but overall the place would be clean and some parts more modern than other (i.e. updated kitchen, with old style bathroom).
However, if you look outside of Boston, like Charlestown, Medford, Somerville, Cambridge (all of which are very accessible to downtown Boston) you could get more bang for your buck.
