Lala: My first apartment! Yay? or neigh?
Well I have found a cute little apartment that I want to move into and it is the very cheapest one that I have found in over a year and a half. To move in it will cost me 650 dollars including deposit and everything and the rent is 550 monthly. I work 40 hours a week and make minumun wage. Can I afford an apartment? It is a low income apartment, I wont find anything cheaper but that is still half of what I make a month! I am responisble and know how to pay bills, I have lived in apartments and rented it was just always with other people and we split the rent so it was only a couple hundred a month and only for a few months at a time. This will be signing a lease and paying every cent alone. I am super scared to make the move but I know that I wont find anything better and if I wait this offer wont last, they only have 1 available apt and the deal is till the end of the month. What would you do????

The rule of thumb is to not pay more than 1/3 of your income for housing. Any chance you could get a roommate? Or stay where you are now if it’s cheaper.
It will require a very tight budget which might cause you a lot of stress and won’t be much fun because you won’t have any extra cash for the fun stuff. I’d do it only if I could find a part-time job in addition to my 40 hours.
