Michael: Where Can I Get An Auto Loan With Bad Credit And Low Income?
I am in need of a new vehicle and I want to obtain an auto loan, however I have two strikes against me….bad credit and a fixed income. My credit score is around 520 and my income is $ 1150 a month via SSI & SSDI. Does anyone know where I could obtain an auto loan quickly either locally or over the net that will most likely help me out? I live in Rochester, NY.

I am looking for serious advice. Please don’t say “Get a job” or “Improve your credit score” or anything like that. Please also do not leave me any other mean-spirited or insulting comments either. I am on SSI/SSDI due to legitimate disability and I have been trying to improve my credit score, but its been difficult. Thank you very much for any help or assistance.
Public transportation is not an option due to many factors

With those limits, you are going to be stuck with a “Buy here, pay here, get taken to the cleaners hear” dealer.

Unless you can find a family member with good credit and a desire to cosign.

YOu are going to get really bad rates if you can find anything. I would honestly question whether you can afford a car on that income!? You may want one, and/ or need one but can you afford it?

Simple fact is that you will not find any legitimate lender. Even if you had decent credit, low income would get you turned down. If your monthly income is only $ 1150, you simply cannot afford a car payment.

Some communities have special transportation for disabled folks for little or no costs. Check around. Sometimes churches have these programs and might even help get you a car.

Somewhere that sells cheap used cars. Your interest rate will be quite high. That’s pretty much your only option.

If you do go the Buy Here Pay Here route, you will certainly default and lose the car.

I am sorry to say that you need an income of at least $ 1500 monthly to qualify for an auto loan. You will either need to save up and pay cash or borrow from a family member or friend.Good luck.
